Oil and Gas lawyers in High Demand in Texas

In 2003, our Texas legal recruiters rarely got a call for an E&P attorney (aka exploration and production attorney or more generally, oil and gas attorney).  A few calls began coming in around 2007 for E&P lawyers with four to ten years of experience, but they really didn’t exist.  Virtually no hiring in the energyy practice area occurred for many years because the existing practitioners handled their work without growth – a definite experience gap in the energy industry.  Instead, our legal recruiters placed general transactional lawyers with real estate or general energy procurement backgrounds in the new E&P roles.
