The Austin office of an international firm that is well-known for its work in the technology arena is seeking an associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their Austin office and work on intellectual property-related transactions for technology companies. This associate will primarily work on structuring, drafting, and negotiating a variety of intellectual property and commercial transactions, including licensing, e-commerce, service, development, and distribution transactions. This associate will also work on the intellectual property aspects of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and other multidisciplinary transactions, and on privacy and data security matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and entrepreneurial individual with on-point I.P. experience and a strong interest in representing technology companies to help build a growing practice.
Responsibilities:
- Structure, draft, and negotiate a broad spectrum of intellectual property and commercial transactions, including but not limited to licensing, e-commerce, service agreements, development, and distribution transactions.
- Actively participate in the intellectual property facets of mergers, acquisitions, public offerings, and other transactions that demand a multidisciplinary approach.
- Provide robust support on privacy and data security matters.
- Collaborate closely with clients to comprehend their business objectives, risk tolerance, and expectations, subsequently providing tailored legal advice and solutions.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, laws, and regulations within the intellectual property and technology sectors, integrating this knowledge into client strategies and counsel.
- Contribute to the team’s business development efforts, including engaging in networking events, writing articles, and participating in seminars and conferences.

Qualifications:
- D. degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Possess 3-5 years of experience in intellectual property transactional law, with a particular focus on technology companies.
- Bar Admission in Texas (or eligibility for admission) is required.
- Demonstrable experience in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide array of intellectual property and commercial agreements.
- Experience with privacy and data security law is highly beneficial.
- Excellent analytical, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with confidence in your legal counsel.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the capability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
