A publicly-held company in the transportation industry is seeking a lead attorney for litigation and employment matters. This attorney will report directly to the General Counsel and be the internal point person for all disputes and claims. The role will manage outside counsel in dispute resolution and assist in representing the company in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other disputes, such as those with governmental agencies. This position will also lead the company’s ESG initiatives, conducting trend and risk analysis and benchmarking to understand key stakeholder expectations of the sustainability landscape to ensure awareness of critical developments and assist with the development of appropriate platforms and systems to strength the collection of data for the company’s sustainability disclosures. The base salary for this role will be over $200K, with bonus and equity.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee outside counsel in dispute resolution processes.
- Represent the company in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and disputes involving governmental agencies.
- Lead the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
- Conduct trend and risk analyses to understand stakeholder expectations in the sustainability landscape.
- Develop platforms and systems to enhance data collection for the company’s sustainability disclosures.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Texas State Bar.
- Significant experience in litigation and employment law, preferably within the transportation industry.
- Proven ability to manage outside counsel and lead dispute resolution efforts.
- Familiarity with ESG principles and experience in sustainability reporting.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
